In Criminal Law, a seizure is the forcible taking of property by a government law enforcement official from a person who is suspected of violating, or is known to have violated, the law.

While on the other hand, Confiscation is a legal form of seizure by a government or other public authority.
In general, the act of appropriating private property for state or sovereign use is said to be. Confiscation.

Forfeiture is defined under the Indian Contracts Act, 1872. Forfeiture means loss or denial of something in case if there is a penalty or fine imposed due to an action or an omission by moving away from one's obligations.
