An indian public conglomerate company(in top 3 FMCG) has very absurd leave policy which does not seem legitimate.
as per the policy, whenever leave of absense is applied, if weekend is clubbed between the leave dates then the weekend is counted in the number of days of leave taken.
for example; weekend will be condsidered in the number of days of absentee in the following scenarios
1.leave applied(1 day applied) on friday or monday will have a weekend attached(total 3(Friday/Monday+saturday+sunday) days leave counted)
2.leave applied(2 days applied) on friday and coming monday.(total 4(Friday+saturday+sunday+Monday) days leave counted)
Is this legitimate in context of the india labour and service laws.Expert comments are much appreciated.
