Disproving allegation of alcoholism

Dear Experts,

After my adulterous wife absconded, I filed for a divorce. Now, my wife alleges that I used to beat her and demand dowry under the influence of Alcohol. I have been a teetotaler all my life.

Query 1: Is there a way that I can prove that I am a teetotaler?

Query 2: Can I or should I file for defamation?

Thanks in advance

Concentrate on your divorce case and  prove the allegation of adultery against her.  In your pleadings, you simply deny that you consume alcohol and say you are a teetotaller and ready to be medically examined.  No need to prove and no need to file defamation case.

Thank you very much sir.

Would it be benefit my case if I can prove that the boy she absconded with(who she claims to be her "just friend") is an alcoholic. He has also filed for a divorce case and is a respondent in a domestic violence case.
