We have around 44 acres of ancestral farm land which my uncles use for farming. My dad shifted his base to Mumbai for job 30 years ago but we are still a joint family.
My uncles never gave us a single rupee from the farming income. Where as education/marriages/dowries of all my cousins was because of farming income.
Now all cousins are growing apart and there are a lot of arguments happening regarding the farming income ( we are still not part of any of these arguments). Few months back to resolve these arguments as the eldest son, my father instructed all my uncles to maintain books and keep the farming income in a joint account. My uncles kept the track of income/expenses for a month, but now at the time of opening a joint account they are saying that they dont have a single rupee. and the amount was around 12,00,000 when I checked books. this is just for a single year
It is clear to us that they are not willing to share any of that income and also the information with any of us.
my concern is as follows.
I have a little sister and I want my uncles to pay for her marriage...since we have been indirectly paying for their education + marriag expenses + dowries upto ranging from 1,00,000 to 12,00,000 each. believe me.... thats a lot considering that I have 7 married female cousins and 3 male cousins. At times they took loans on our farm lands without our consent and paid off those loans on farming income. But as my sister's marriage is nearing they want to separate out farm lands and go about their own way.
what are my legal options here ?
