I am HR working professional and done MBA in HR. Now, interested to do LLB as I am working I am not be able to attend lectures in regular course. So I have decided to do distance/correspondence LLB. Just want to know if I am able to complete my distance learning then I can be a advocate and I am not able to practice in court, is it right? Also, I read somewhere that bar council does not recognise distance law degree... Please Suggest.....

Hi Monica,

Unfortunately LLB is not available by distance education.  Even if you find 1 or 2 Universities offer distance education, it is not recognised by Bar Council of India.  To become an Advocate, you should have graduated from a Law College/University, after undergoing full time classes, which is recognised by BCI.  There are certain courses available like MBL by NLSIU and BAL/BGL thru distance education, you can enrich your legal knowledge, however please remember you cannot get enrolled as advocate.

Trust this clarifies.

Regards
