Do we require law against invasion of privacy?

Considering the populr growth of Private Investigation, wiretapping, phone tapping etc, do we require proper legislation against invasion of Privacy? I am of the view that without proper legislation on the matter the society is at the risk of exposing all our private affairs and we will be simply washing all our dirty linen before the public, unless there is a proper legislation against invasion of privacy.

When a 'money-' powerful guy wants control he does not care about the privacy of the oppressed.

When the oppressed wants justice, even the most ethically gathered information would be deemed as false facts.

It is all about money, honey.
