Does proprietorship require any registration

A person wants to start a recruitment agency with the proprietorship business. Provided he is not under any indirect bracket, do he need any registration under any authority in any way. He'll be filing the return, though with the said name.

Also tell he would be giving a name to his business, 'XYZ consultants'. Is there anything like registration of that name anywhere in case of proprietary concern.

In short, if a person is starting proprietoship business, does he require any registration anywhere?

There are no statutory registrations prescribed under law for a proprietary concern unlike partnerships and companies. However, the prorietary should register for trade license and it is advisable to pay professional tax also.

No registration is required for your agency but you are liable to pay professional tax, so get the resitratin for professional tax.
