Yes, there exists provision. However, to my knowledge, this should have been done at the time of registration of conveyance itself. Moreover, it is quite often the practice that the recitals in the deed itself specify the person who keeps the original.

In the recitals, a section is there of title deeds wherein it is mentionsed that the vendor shall hand over to the company (association or society) all the title deeds in its safe custody or whomsover it thinks fit and proper. The purchasers can inspect on request from the company the title deeds whenever required.
Does this imply that the Association/Society is responsible for keeping the original conveyance deed ?
