Employee puts notice and without serving notice period, he gets absconding

I m an HR professional in an organisation. we are facing a problem from employees side, few employees resignes and gets absconding without serving notice period.

kindly advise in such cases, should we consider those employees as absconding and proceed accordingly or we should consider them as resigned..? what is correct as per law?

Mr. Prasanna,  That's very rude way to address an enquiry. You could have been a little polite .  A better drafted answer could save the embrassment of using the last word.
