employee taken company assets and not returning

hi, we have few employee provided with company assets like mobile phone and laptop to perform their duties. they have left from company without serving any notice period and not returning those assets. what action can be taken against those . they are not responding positively on phone and not picking at all. we have records of assets allocation for few but not for all.
