Good day,
I belong to Shipping industry, working as a Quality Assurance Manager. There are various unions for Seafare (sea-staff) which works as protective agent for them. All seafarers are compulsorily registered with such Unions.
My query is: Is it possible to make a union for Shore-staff (who are not Seafarer, they work in the shore based .office). I have experienced shore staff being sacked so many times just like in other industies. The query arose because of there have been so many constructive dismissals in Shipping Industries and now have received so many queries asking to bulit a Union at all India Level.
Kindly help me to with some good inputs.
