Encumberance certficate sf number incorrect

In Encumbrance certificate, there was an error in SF number. Instead of 277/2A, it was 237/2A. After applied for correction, SF got updated as 237/2A , 277/2A. When I check in Registrar office, they said that 237/2A cannot be removed. Is that true? Can any one please help?

The rectification entry rectifying the erroneous entry, if reflected then it is clear that the error has been rectified properly. There is nothing to be worried about it.

It is a mistake to note the SF number in the Index.II in my view. If it is indexing, the Sub Registrar can change it after obtaining permission from the District Registrar. Or if the mistake has occurred in the document, you shall get a registered rectification deed.

You have already stated to have got rectification deed, there is no further query / question left over in the given facts and circumstances of the case.
