Error in encumbrance certificate

Hello All,

Recently i have purchaed a property under my name and respective sales deed also done. But in sales deed document my name was mentioned at Name of Executant section, at Name of Claimants section the seller name was mentioned. I was totally confused now. How shall i correct this error. I hope my name should be in Name of the Claimants.

The error could be corrected through a  rectification deed.

Such errors can be rectified by the execution of a supplementary document called Rectification deed.This is also referred to as a correction deed. It is to be noted here that there must have been a bonafide mistake where the original deed does not reflect the true intention of parties to the deed in question. The mistake should pertain to ' facts only' as mistakes of law cannot be corrected by means of a Rectification Deed.
