Evidentiary value of extra judicial confessions- its admissibility to secure conviction

To what extent extra judicial confessions can be relied upon to secure conviction when there is no occular evidence.

Extra-judicial confession of accused need not in all cases be corroborated. Conviction of an accused can be based even on uncorroborated extra-judicial confession if it inspires confidence.
