Exchange and sale of property

Me and my brother own the constructed portion of a property other half of which, a vacant land,  is owned by my cousin. We are no more  interest to live there any more while my cousin wants to settle there hence  he has offered me to get the properties exchanged.  We have agreed to his offer and asked him to first sell his share of property and pay the amount to us in consideration of having purchased our  share of property. In this context, please advise us as to what precautions and points we should keep in mind during this process.

Eschange of properties deed can be regd., or you can both relinquish your rights over the properties to save the stamp duty.
