extending the dates upto 1month by the court

sir, I'm plaintiff , wondering why the court gives as much of time as req for defendant in civil matters by extending upto 1month is this is the court procedure , when will actual arguments start how to curtail this my advocate is not responding properly how to stop this from court wht I can do plz help me sir
