Family court - evidence closing

I'm the respondent in annulment case filed by wife on ground of impotency.

I've filed for my potency test by medical board and the same is pending in court.

The case is dragging and evidence session is not closed.

Now, is it possible to close evidence session before allowing/rejecting my application for potency test? if yes, can i request the court to close evidence session to speed up the case OR should I wait untill court itself decides to close the evidence session?
