Fir in local language_need in eng.

Hi Lawyers/Members,

One of my relative is facing 498A . In his case FIR is filed only against him and he is currently on AB. The problem is the FIR is in local language ie Oriya and he resides in Mumbai and is planning to show the FIR in Mumbai to his advocate and persue the case in Mumbai.

Can you suggest where and how he can get his FIR translated in English and whether it needs to be approved in any Court document or affidavit and only then any Court in Mumbai would accept it as an authenticated translated version if he decides to persue his case further in Mumbai.

1. An advocate who is able to do such translation and affix his signature as trnslated by him this would be sufficient. You can get many orriya translators in Mumbai.

Try to get an Oriya Advocate so that he can translate and certify that he did the tnslation.
