For issuing patta for privately owned land

In tamil nadu, revenue authorities ask for parent documents for even beyond 30 years from the date of patta application for issuing patta for a privately owned residential land, despite producing documents of title, EC etc for 30 years.

as per law, verification of 12 years /30 years title suffices to establish ownership, how revenue authorities can demand for documents beyond 12 /30 years for issuing patta;

pl throw more light on the legal provisions , more so when patta is made mandatory for all transaction subsequent to 2015-16.

There is no need to be anxious about patta if your possession ins continuous and disputed. Possession itself is title unless it is less than legitimate.

It is learnt that patta is mandatory in tamilnadu to be produced to registrar at the time of registration for any transaction relating to the land, such as sale/ purchase of land;

such being the case, for issuing patta based on the title deeds and EC, revenue authorities demand title deed document even beyond 35 years;

pl advise how to handle
