Gift deed of immovable property.

Dear Sir,

My father has gift a immovable property (chawle hosue)in the year 2006 but since he was not knowing that the gift deed is to be registered and so he as made it on a Rs. 100 Stamp paper and there is no witness for the same and now I would like to register the property in my name, so what will be procedure for the registrartion of perperty and how much stamp duty i have to pay.

If the property is self acuired by your father then he can execute a rgistered Deed Of Gift in your favour during his life time,without registration the deed is not valid.But after his death he left the property in his own name then you,your mother,brother and sister (if any) shall have equal right.For registration charges and stamp duty you can get query from the local Sub-Registrar Office.
