GPA for purchase of Plot

Dear Sir,

My brother is currently staying in US, he wants to buy a plot in Mysore, in Karnataka. He has sent a original copy of the GPA document after notorizing it from the local notary in US. He is appointing my mother as his attorney.

Questions:

1. Does this GPA has to be registered?

2. Does my mother have to visit the sub-registrar's office for the same or can I get it done with my mother's presence.

3. What will be the charges for registring and will it be done in any SRO in bangalore?

Can one please share some knowledge on these questions.

Thanking you,

Deepak.

Sorry the 2nd question is

2. Does my mother have to visit the sub-registrar's office for the same or can I get it done WITHOUT my mother's presence.

In case of registeration she has to visit SRO.

However, no need to get the GPA registered since your mother is the purchaser only. She may purchase a property on your brother's behalf without getting the GPA registered.
