harassement by the society's committee member

I am a resident of a coopeartive housing society in Borivali West in mumbai. My family is been harassed by Mr.Santosh Tukaram Rane and his family for the past several years. There is a lot of running, jumping and banging noise at all odd hours coming from their flat which is located right above my flat. Unfortunately, Mr. Santosh Tukaram Rane is a member of the present managing committee.

We have spoken to Mr. Santosh and his family personally about this many times in the past but they don’t seem to understand. We have also been complaining regularly about this nuisance to the management for the past many years but it has been of no help. As per the cooperative housing society’s rule, the other committee members spoke to him but he asked them not to interfere. A notice was issued to his family but it was not accepted. In one of the society’s meetings to solve the issue, he abused my son, Mr. Sandesh Rane and said,” Do whatever you want”. Mr. Santosh is extremely arrogant. Subsequently, his mother inspite being a senior citizen is totally insensible and has quarreled with us saying that they will continue with the noise and no can stop them.

We have filed a complaint against Mr. Santosh Rane and his family in the local police station but still they have been continuing with their nuisance. Can you please guide ?

You can file an application under Right To Information act at police station that what action you have taken on my complaint. If your neighbour is politicaly and moneywise powerful then you then you have to double your efforts. You have to find his weak points where he break any law then only you can teach him lesson. But you should get support from all of your family members and try to get support from other society members too.
