While buying health insurance do I need to compare the co-payment clause?

Yes, while you compare health insurance, its necesarry that you also check on the co-payment clause because you will have to bear a certain percentage of medical expenses from the admissible claim amount. So always opt for a policy with low or no co-payment clause. Also, health insurance plans with high co-payment percentage cost you less premium.

You may.

The cost of treatment for some ailments can be very high.

One should look at Sum Assured (insurance), premia, inclusion and exclusion criteria and avoid Co-payment as much as possible.

Once chosen keep a watch and keep the insurance policy in force.

If want to switch over chose the portability option (if available at that time) carefully and act in time, under proper acknolwedgment.
