The procedure is to convince the husband for MCD, then consult a local lawyer and file it in the court then wait for 6 months, then move the second motion of MCD and get the divorce...
But if your friend is live seperately bcoz of 'misunderstandings' and 'domestic disputes' then why not follow a better procedure of advicing her to work upon removing the misunderstandings? Try to settle the disputes amicably, You can suggest her to see a marriage councellor along with her husband.
