HOLIDING ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE

In many private companies, it is the practice of insisting on original certificates relating to educational qualifications  from selected candidates for job and holding the same till the service period.   On account of  this practice, young generation people are losing the opportunity of getting better placement as they are not able to attend interview with original testimonials.  Is it justifiable under  law?  What is the recourse to aggrieved persons in this regard.

if illiteracy is a problem, literacy looks to be a greater problem. No reputed industry would indulge in such practice of keeping the original educational certificates. Can't understand why educated persons tend to agree to everything including execution of bond and handing over the certificates and then suffer!. While one can understand anxiety in getting a job, desperate efforts leads to trouble. Through this forum I requested the youth not to fall prey to unscrupulous practice adapted by some companies. I repeat reputed companies don't ask for the original certificates to be kept with them.
