Hotel room booked for wrong date

A friend of mine was booking a hotel room through MAKE MY TRIP. When taking the money for the booking, no booking details were visible and he was assured that the same are in line with the discussions done. When he got the booking voucher, the dates were incorrect and so were the cancellation terms. This was highlighted and since then he has been receiving promises that the booking will be done. He have also recieved an SMS to that extent. However the voucher is yet to come.

Given these circumstances, i asked him to take a legal action against the company. He is now contemplating canceling the booking and taking them to the consumer court for mental harassment. Is the above a ground enough to do the same?

The customer may supply  a notice to MD of the company ( which customer can also send) narrating the facts and demand refund, compnesation and that company should beg apology in writing under original and signature by hand so as to reach the customer say within 15 days by redg/speed post only.

If the comapny maintains studied silence or customer is not satisfied, there is a justified reason to approach DCDRF. It shall be appropriate to show all records to a lawyer specialising in consumer cases.
