House registration

Me and my husband has purchased a house. We wish to register it in both or our names. But he is currently residing abroad(NRI) and has given power of attorney to his father only for buying the property. In this case is it possible to register in both of our names with me in person and his power of attorney alone during the registration.

Dear Kavi,

Usually when the power of Attorney is granted to somebody for buying the property then the cluase is mentioned in it that the attorney could also present itself before the registrar for registering the sale deed.

need to have a look at the copy of the power of attorney before giving you any futher opinion.

You may call on 9324538481 for legal assistance.

Actually the problem is my husband cannot be present for the registration. Only his power of attorney i.e his father can be present. In this case is it possible to register in both of our names?
