Its not safe in the view of commiting an other relationship after an ex-parte decree. Your husband can set-aside the ex-parte divorce obtained by you and file criminal cases like bigamy on you. 

You have to carefully serve the divorce notices to him before obtaining the ex-parte decree and still a case can be made out to harass you.

I have filed to contest. Waiting for the things to move. And ready to face whatever way it goes.

I may sound a bit odd. But just give a serious thought to what you really want in life.

If you want to remarry try to get a divorce by mutual consent. If your husband does not agree go for a contested divorce.

But if you are happy remaining single, there is no point in wasting your time & money on the legal process. Invest that time & money on your children. You seem to be financially independent. You will have to take some measures only if your husband troubles you in any way.

Enjoy life. You never get a second chance.
