I am having an advocate on rec but can i appear as in person

While Order III, Rule 1 of the Civil Procedure Code allows party in person,   Nagappa Mallappa Bandi v. Shivraj, AIR 2006 Kant. 229 does not allow a party to represent his case without discharging his Counsel on record.    Stare decisis has to be respected.
