Importance of eye witnesses in recovery of money

What is the importance of eye witnesses in recovery suit? I gave 3,00,000 to my friend and now he is not willing to pay me. I am planning to file an recovery suit to get my money. When I gave him the money they were 2 eye witnesses in that place. Will the civil court give much importance to the words of eye witness in these kind of cases or am I fighting a weak case?

Dear,

They must not be interested witness, but neutral witness. i.e. court should not feel that they are biased. If you can in the mean time record the audio or video of the person whom you had given money (mentioning the name of those persons that they were the witness to the transaction) that would further substantiate your claim and would be an admission of his part as well.
