Industry in residential area

Using machinery in a residential area without license may result in eviction. You have to approach building and factory department of MCGM in Mumbai for an Industrial license.

The BMC marks each area as residential, industrial, business etc and the permission specifically states about the usage of building when the building was sanctioned/approved.

First you have to file RTI Application seeking approved plan of the building with copy of such order and conditions.

If the building is used for purpose other than it was sanctioned, you can make a complaint to BMC against such usage.

If BMC fails to take any action, you can file writ seeking HC directions for taking action by BMC.
