Inheritance

Respected sir / madam, Recently I happened to see a movie 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' in Netflix. As per the story-line, a man and woman are living together but not yet married. The lady gets pregnant and the man dies before marrying her. She continues to live in the same house. Gives birth to a girl child. After some 25 or so years, the man's brother's son stakes a claim for the property but the court rules in favour of the girl child. I wish to know if a child born outside of wedlock is entitled to inherit property. Please do not misunderstand me for raising some film story in this forum. I am trying to know the correct poition of law for general knowledge purpose. Thanks.

Thank you sir. That was very thoughtful of you, to mention the matter regarding ancestral property. I appreciate that. Thanks, once again.
