Instrument titled as gift deed impounded u/s 38 Indian stamp act.
My gift deed was impounded for recovery of deficient stamp duty i am ready to pay the  deficient stamp duty but without any penalty as the  insufficient stamp duty was paid by mistake in calculation.
What should be my reply and what are the remedies available

pray the officer cum Collector under Stamp Act concerned who issue notice to pay the deficit duty including penality that the deficit is due to mistake in claculation. The Officer/Collector may at his discretion may reduce penality.
