Interest and cost in civil suits

Sir,

   I have filed a civil suit for recovery u/o 37.The defendant is going to deposit the principal amount at the first appearance in the court.However he refuses to pay the interest and litigation cost..Recovery are very costly and refund of court fee is also tedious procedure. can I get the interset and litigation cost from the court. Is there any Supreme court judgement in this regard

It appears that the opposite party is ready to repay the amount in that case make an application praying before the court for a consent degree including the necessary cost for the suit, with interest till date.
