Is it mandatory to appear in court in property dispute?

Dear All,

I have a property dispute case going in ghaziabad (U.P.) civil court. I have taken services of a lawyer who is representing me. Do I need to appear on every date in court too with my lawyer? if no, does it impact in anyway to my case and can cause any kind of loss to me?

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
