Is it possible to cancel agreement

Hi I have given a receipt in my own hand writing. But the receipt has started with the word agreement.

I have written a receipt for receiving some advance amount for proposed sale of a property. As the part is well known I have given agreemtn for the security. Later due to some problems I cannot sell property. Is it possible to cancel an agreement ( which is not registered)

Basing on the receipt/agreement the holder can insist on purchasing and can also file a specific performance suit. Try to convince the party in cancelling the deal and return the amounts.

Collect the original receipt and destroy the same after cancellation/repayment, otherwise obtain another receipt for return of amount mentioning the cancellation of deal.
