As per your concern it is not necessarily required and even expected from a law student to remember all the sections of various codes given in the Indian Legal System.
However, you must have a glimpse of the offences that are available in the Indian law. In case, you're filling for internship position at any firm then you must be aware of the basic laws that the employer might ask based upon your year of study.

But, generally it is note expected from a law student that he must be aware of all the sections.

As per your concerns

It is not necessary or required to remember all of the sections. Because frankly, we are not robots. However, my advice is for you to keep in regular touch with recent judgements.

You may follow up with the lawyersclubindia and other sites as well to build your understanding of law better.

Hope it is useful!
