why is it that criminals take lawyers along when the police calls the criminals for questioning

This is not because the lawyer wants to accompany the accused as a plesant stroll to the police station, but because the accused is given the right by the Constitution and the laws, to be defended by a lawyer not only inside the court but the moment he is arrayed as accused in criminal case.This rigtht follows the accused in police custody and that is the lawyer.

Sir thank you I do not know anyone in.this group I'm.not anyone's old friend I see many criminals going to the police station with lawyers as we have a shop just near a police station

Article 22 of the Constitution of India and those sections 303 and 304 of the CrPc. Here the word acompany the criminal means to defend the criminal from the momebnt he is arrested and not necessarily inside the bars of the Police. Yes, Mr.Om Prakash, see my PM.
