This is just to inform you that my name appears in ‘Limca Book of Records’ 2014 edition at page 122 in the category – ‘Print’- ‘Communications: “Letters to the Editor-multiple records: Mahesh Kapasi (b Oct 28, 1948) of Delhi, who has 12,889 letters published in 365 newspapers and magazines since 1974, holds these records as of June 18, 2013: Most in a daily: 696 letters in The Pioneer from New Delhi since august 1, 1993. Most Prizes: 169 Best Letter to the editor prizes.” Further, as per LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS 2013 -“Letters to the Editor-multiple records”; I hold following records: “Most in a month: 109 letters in May 2010. Most in a day: 10 letters on May 15, 2011. Most in a single newspaper in a year: 146 letters in Central Chronicle from Bhopal between July 10, 2006 and July 9, 2007. Longest: A 960-worded letter in Indian Nation on Dec 3, 1996.” My updated other data is as follows: My latest tally is 13 409 letters (including 178 Prized / Best letters) in 370 newspapers and magazines. To my credit also published more than 100 letters in 32 newspapers and magazines – including more than 200 letters in 17 newspapers, more than 300 letters in 8 newspapers, more than 400 letters in 5 newspapers , more than 500 letters in 2 newspapers and more than 600 letters in 1 newspaper. And to my credit there are 91 Articles; 294 Poems – one in Australian and One Poem and One letter in UK Magazine and 66 Jokes published so far. (Mahesh Kapasi)
