Limitation Period for Redemption of Mortgage

Dear Experts,

What is the limitation Period for Redemption of Mortgage. there is a simple mortgage.. the possession is with mortgagor.. is it 30 years ? I am confused

The borrower has just repaid the entire loan and wants to remove charge from property. I want to know whether he can redeem the mortgage. Is it within limitation Period.
