Well, if this is the case with what man attributes as ferocious (animal), then it be pondered what happens with the animates that grow in unison with mankind. Then, there are those animates that live on the tidbits that man throws. It cannot even be documented on what all happen with those species and entities that live unattended by man, all under the care of mother nature. Well, it cannot even be imagined as to what all happens with the animates that get displaced due to this, that, that concrete/s, pollutions, denudations more, more and more.
The best judges in our own families, our kids all accept Chandamama, Mogli ki duniya, Akbar-Birbal, Tenali Rama, Booth-Bethals, Fairies and Angels, Kings and Queens, Gods and Goddess etc stories, characters. These great judges relate to the rest of the world, even to you through those perspectives alone. Why not retain the same purity, moral values aall through our life span 40, 50, .... 100, 150, 200 years (the earth being billions of years) and not allow anything at all to corrupt our minds in any way irrespective of our age, statuses, ezducation, compulsions whatever, whatever it be, whatever, whatever?
Man should not claim earth to be its property. This property is universal property. The other animates (and inanimates) àre equally entitiled to their share. The causes espoused in this thread are just tidbits of the enormity of the dangers in taking resources etc as a parameter to weave economy. Mother nature, in all its splendidness, in all its vividness need be worshipped for the umpteen gifts.
Man's imperfections, addiction, inabilities, weakness ... cause untold sufferings in universal constituents / aspects, only that they are not visible to our naked eyes, ears. Let it be our policy to celebrate, exult on the happiness caused and not on the tears that roll down here, there or somewhere or other.
Rules, governance, economy etc manmade aspects should focus on interweaving relationship between man-animates-inanimates and in such a way that the bondages should never get / be allowed to be broken under any circumstance, by anyone, at any time, nothing at all whatsoever.
It is imperative for man to weave economy, policies, priorities ... on self sustainable means at least from now on. Nature and its constituents are reliable substrates, platforms, base for such perpetually possible means. Man could study, explore the perpetually magnificent system that nature is. But let nature be given the due place, respect.
Is something too much being sought? Is something utopian being said? No. India has a rich tradition with nature in all its splendidness. India had and can refind these reliable paths in the changed scheme of things, even under challenges. Wake up India. Wake up. Don't follow. Take the lead, whatever it be at least from reboot.
