Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a freelance consultant. Recently I travelled abroad for work. I bought 1000 USD from an authorised exchange shop in Delhi. Unfortunately, I have lost the currency exchange receipt and do not remember name of the shop also. I want to know in what ways can I deal with this problem while filing my tax returns. I have spent for my hotel stay in USD and my reimbursements will be transferred to my bank. How would I account for it in the absence of the currency exchange receipt? Please suggest the ways to deal with this problem. This is causing me a lot of distress but there must be some way to deal with it. So please guide me.
