Maintenance charges

Hello Sir/Madam,

I reside in a society in Navi Mumbai. What are the rules for publishing of audit report which the society sends each year.

There was a charge of 10K which the society has levied on us and after debating for almost 4 years it dropped the charges in 2010. So in the annual audit report for 2011-2013 these were not shown in the maintenance charges.

But again the society added the same charges in 2014 and sent it to us, the reason given "it was a mistake of old committee".

Can the society do this?

Isn't the rule that audit report is discussed and published only after the general body meeting is held?

Can I object on this grounds and put up a notice to the society?

Thanks,

Geeta

Yes, you can send a notice to society to know about it. If you do not get satisfied with the reasons, you can object it. All the charges should be shown in the annual audit report.
