My Friend is 38 year old lady .
Brief Story:
When she was 15 year old , Her father wanted to gift her LIC policy . An agent suggested my friend should have own id proof as it makes easy to withdraw policy when it is matured. So her father approached an agent to apply for her driving licence . As about 20 years ago it was easy to make driving licence . The agent demanded just photos to apply for licence and said no proof needed . But her age on licence was used as 18 years instead of 15 years . Key facts of the case are as follows
- She is non driver and never used her license to drive .
- Licence has correct address/photo's etc . It just has incorrect date of birth
- This licence is not used for any fraud to obtain any service by state govt or any company .
- She used it as valid identity proof almost her whole life like to open bank account , telephone connection , railway ticket etc .
- The licence is found fake after enquiry with RTO (according to husband)
- She is having matrimonial dispute so her inlaws are threating her to indulge her into fake licence case .
- As my friend was mere 15 when she obtained licence . so will it considered as juvenile crime. Or she used it later in life to obtain bank account/telephone etc so it will be treated as adult crime ?
- Is there anything that can save her because she never knew it was fake licence and she never misused it . There was no criminal motive behind it at all . IF she were aware this thing can trouble her she might have used her voter card or passport as her id proof
Thankyou
