Unlike Arbitration mediation is considered to be a non binding procedure....as in there is no final judgemnet like the award passes in arbitration or the settlement agreement in concilliation...A neutral third party assists the parties helps the parties reach a mutual and satisfactory settlement..

In mediation the parties are at the liberty to agree or not agree to the settlement as hey please without decideing as to who is right or wrong....SO these ppl are well aware and experienced ppl who help u out understand what wrong are u doin and what exactly u should be doin...But they dont order you to do so....so mediation is a process if both parties are willing to settle the dispute...but if ur wife is not interested and already has in her mind what she wants...then its no use....:)
