Missing sale deed document

Hello all,

My husband held some agircultural land near Chennai.He expired in March 2016.I'm unable to trace the document.We are now settled in Bangalore for the last 10 years.

Can i file a FIR using the online facility provided by Bangalore Police or should I go to my area police station. Also what should be the content for publishing in a local/English newspaper?

Immediately obtain a certified copy of sale deed, and basing on that mutate the property in your name. Focus on priorities. The mutation has to be done at Tehasildar's office with copy of sale deed, any will or legal heir certificate issued by Tehasildar in absence of a testament.
