Multiple defendants - civil case

We have civil case filed against 9 defendants out of which I am one. Here 5 of them does not want to continue in the case and they jus received summons and they are saying they are afraid and it is first time they are receiving summons and they don't want their name in the case.

Any legal remedies for removing their names or option for them not contesting?

If they are not interested to contest the case then they can abstain from attending the court, after which the court will pass a decision against them in their absence, setting them as exparte

Once their names have been impleaded as defendants then they have to contest to get the case against them dismissed by court and by no means their names can be removed.

If tbey are necessary party they cannot be deleted they can provide gpa to any one defendant to proceed the case.
