if someone name was Bikash Gupta but now he wants to change his name as Amal Gupta. Is it possible? if yes, how to do, please .

Greetings Sir!

You need to follow the following steps to change your name:

1. Create a Name Change Affidavit with the help of a Lawyer.

2. The affidavit needs to be signed by two witnesses and should be attested by District Magistrate as well as notarized by Notary.

3. Newspaper advertisement with proper format.

4. You need to submit documents for publication of name change in Official Gazette to Department of Publication.

Publication of your name change will be made in the official gazette under seven days of submitting the application.
