National highway taken agri land how to recover land value money

Dear sir/ Madam, My father had 22 cent agriculture land close to NH highways Boodalur Tanjore district Tamilnadu my father had PATTA for the land in his name,national highways taken the land for road construction 5 years back,and official record is present at VAO office, where as Registrar office still maintains land owner as my father. on inquiring it seems NH authority had paid the money( 2 lakhs) for the land at tanjore treasury 5 years back, kindly inform how my father can claim back the money from the treasury, i had taken a written letter from VAO stating the said land fully taken by NH for road expansion, we went to RDO / thasildar office more than 15 times no body is ready to give us correct details kindly help us to recover the money Thank you
