hello,

i need help in knowing the following if anybody can help me, kinldy go ahead

is it necessary for the teachers of aided schools of delhi under the GNCT of delhi to seek permission from the emlpoyer to increase his qualification?

what if higher qualification is obtained without such permission?

is it an offence to obtain the higher qualification without the permission? if yes ia it such a big offence that the employer can deny promotion which based on the same higher qualification?

are there any instances taken up the courts of law in any of the above matter? what were the decisions of the courts?

Kindly study your appointment letter and rules of your establishment carefully. These may be silent or expressive on all modes of education e.g. thru distance mode, regular mode, evening classes, virtual classroom etc., but employer may treat it as a misconduct.

If the rules are not clear, or are not made available to you, you may take RTI route.

Another option is apply your rapport, goodwill, and your persuasion, persistence, negotiation skills with your line management, HR, good offices and convince them and put up your request in writing and obtain consent.

The office hours cannot be utilized for individual’s gain until or unless permitted by employer.

In general no employer shall object for further studies until and unless it obstructs your regular work with the company hence it is better to opt distance education however it is better to put it writing and obtain approvals.

Some of the companies / organizations rather support the employee in acquiring higher qualifications by sanctioning leave like education leave, fees reimbursement etc., etc., part of knowledge management.

It is better to obtain prior permission and proceed further eventhough you may be going through the distance eduction mode but for that also you may have to attend some specific classes and exams also for which you need leaves.

Mr. kumar Doab has given useful advise please follow and away from any hurdles in future.

Regards - kamesh
